My Review of "The Grumpy Gator Seafood Restaurant & Bar".

The other night we decided to go out for a quick dinner, and could not decide, so we went and drove around 17Th Street Causeway and saw this place called The Grumpy Gator Seafood Restaurant & Bar. The outside was really nice, and you could tell it was pretty new. It was around 6PM, and really not many car's. But, we decided to go anyways.
We were seated right away in a booth (I love booth's), and immediately we ordered drinks (2-4-1) J, doesn't drink so he had an iced tea. I had a long island. And we ordered an appetizer of fried calamari. (It took about 25 Min's to come out) And, the sauce it came with was like a mango and pineapple. NOT GOOD!
On to dinner, J ordered the mahi mahi, grilled shrimp, and scallops (also came with beans and yellow rice) The mahi mahi was tiny, and not fresh, not flaky (he wasn't eating it, so I was playing with it trying to get it to flake and not be all rubbishy, lol yeah I am weird) His 4 scallops were way over cooked, and shrunken, and same with the 4 tiny shrimp. For being the most expensive meal on the menu, it was terrible. I couldn't find anything healthy so I ended up with quesadilla. I ate a tiny piece the chicken was dry and it came with no sour cream, to which I couldn't even find the waiter. Finaly another waiter came and got it quickly.
Needless to say this place sucked. And, we are so not picky. I look a could of pictures, but trust me when I downloaded them we were both like wow the shrimp and scallops don't look that small close up on the camera. BUT, they were.
I would never go back. OH, and all those yellow chunks were some kind of fruit, so not good at all.
So, this place gets a 1 out of 5. It's getting a 1, because the place was totally decorated really cool, and very clean.

Easy Breezy Pasta!

I was looking for something healthy, and light and a PASTA! I was craving it, I made this one up! And it is DELISH!

I cooked up some thin wheat spaghetti, mixed in a few cups of spinach, a handful of cherry tomato's, a bunch of large shrimp,a few capers and sauteed garlic and olive oil, and chopped onion in a pan until the flavor was very strong!

It was awesome and healthy... tons of veggies and a little bit of pasta!

Comfort food...

I bought a few pepper lastweek and haven't used them, so today I didn't want them to go to waste and J is sick... so I made a soup out of them and it turned out really good... I pureed the peppers and onions, put them in a pot with some veggie broth, heavy cream, and a dash of flour, when finished I added a bag of corn.
It turned out so creamy and good... comfort food!
Next time for sure I will roast the peppers to give a bolder flavor (I cook, I learn) I like to cook with no meat. I also love to cut up veggies, so relaxing (yes, I am weird)!

Here is the end... yummo!

My famous Cabbage Soup!

This soup will help you lose weight quick~ and its delish! SO HEALTHY! You really do not taste the cabbage, just tons of veggies. I use sodium-free chicken stock, salt makes you way to bloated. This is what I started with:

And finished: YUM!

Ingrediants:

1 larger bell pepper
1 medium to large cabbage
10 large carrots
1 stalk of celery
1 large onion
1 bulk of garlic
1 bunch of cilantro/ or parsly
2 large cans of petite crushed tomatos

Cut everything into small peices put it all in a large pot and let it simmer for 1-2 hours on medium so all the veggies get tender (not mushy) and the flavors come together. Excellant to freeze too.

Amazing Grama!

This song always helps me through hard times.
It was played in my grandmothers funeral.
I could be in a horrible mood, and this brings me to better days.

So I was thinking of how much I love gingerale, and was looking into maybe making it into a ginger-tini. Sliced ginger in it... and some of those candy ginger. Add alcohal, or NONE! (save those calories with no alcohal)
Then I came across the above and MUST try this! How good does this sound?

My favorite kick-ass Lotion!

This is the *BEST* lotion I have ever used! I highly reccomend it! I use it on my face daily and it has the lightest cucumber smell and not at all oily!
Its called Villa Floriani Ultra Hydrating Cucumber Body Cream.
The only place I know of to get it is Red Door. Or maybe online. But I love it!

Frozen Oranges!

I have been doing this forever. Not many people are aware of this clever way of eating Oranges! I have heard about people eating frozen banana's, grapes, mango, blueberries, strawberries.
But seriously? Oranges?
YES!
I peel the orange, tear it apart into its layers, put it in a bowl and freeze! Throughout the day, I take a slice ant eat! So good! And I am getting so much vitamin C! Lately I have been doing this with only Florida oranges (because that's all J will eat) but, California or navel work so much easier (to peel at least!
Try this!

Too much going on?

goodbye grover

Month's ago we noticed our neighbor was neglecting his dog, he would be outside in very cold weather. Or he would be out in HOT as hell weather. He roams the streets, and we never see a bowl of water... well, J was outside doing lawn matienence, and the neighbor came out to tell him that he is not neglecting the dog, it is not his.
He said that his neighbor's (I guess on the other side) moved awhile back and asked him to watch it. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?
This dog sit's outside in our lawn, and cry's nonstop... J feed's him dog food daily, and also our leftover's (Nemo has not, and will never get people food).
So, tonight... I'm on may way to the store to get some oranges and the dog is right on my porch crying as usual so J comes to the door and I tell him maybe we should just stick him in our backyard and build him a little doghouse (total fun idea, with the DH) and J agree's as long as we give him a flea bath as soon as I get home. I get home, we both put on crappy clothes, and gloves, and scrubbed him.
It was very sad, this dog has not been cared for in a long time. His teeth look so rotten. He is the sweetest thing too. With losing my job I can not afford to take this dog to my vet and get him all fixed up or I totally would! After his bath we dryed him off (it's chilly in south fla), he layed in the back yard and was miserable trying to get out, crying and barking. J finaly let him out of the gate... and off went the dog we had for 2 hour's that we names Grover. :(

UPDATE:
Nemo was covered in flea's right after all this. If anyone know's me and J we do have HUGE heart's but we also treasure our little Nemo's health! We think the dog cry's nonstop do to him maybe having heartworm... and he is suffering, so J is going to call some places tomorrow.

The one where I am hurt.

I cried a 1000 tears today.
I should suck it up(right?!?)
I can't. I started this job December 1st. I was told I would be part-time for 30 day's. Starting full-time Jan. 1st. In December we were in the process of getting a new account and although I was part-time... I put in 40-80 hour's with no regrets (just knowing the company would grow and it would pay off, I even went in on S+S and got work done)!
Tonight... I found out I got screwed. I have been waiting to get paid for (my full-time hour's, starting 01-01-09) for 7 weeks.
I am still on board, but basically I am told I am part-time. Will continue to get paid PART-time. All the hour's, all the patience, the drive to get this company success full... and I get no explanation except through J (more on that later)... oh... you were hired on a need to work (part-time basis)
THANKS!
Really?
J is like well... there is good news's: you have week's off.
Bad news: you will be home from now on, and no full-time pay.

I guess I will look for something full-time, and because of how I was treated they c an now work around my schedule.
I am just very sad.
I loved this job!

Breakfast @ the S~hole!

This morning, as almost every Sunday morning we go to breakfast with my J's mom and step-dad. This is a place we have been going to for 9 year's (J grew up going there when he was little). It's in Lauderdale-by-the-sea.
It is called Country ham and egg's. And we have never had a bad meal! It's only open from 6am-2pm. But, the menu is huge, and delish!
I had Veggie Benedict. (English muffin topped with a tomato, spinach and a poached egg w/ halandaise sauce)
J had his normal #2 (ham, eggs, home fries)
His mama had an egg white omelette's with feta cheese and Lot's of tomato slices on the side.
And, her hubby had a country salty ham with eggs and home fries.
I should start taking pictures. Maybe I will. We usually go with a whole bunch of people, but today just us 4. It was a nice change! There was a marathon going on Ft. Lauderdale beach A1A... so it took a long time to get there, and home. But it was nice to spend time with them!
They also made chicken soup and spare rib's and gave us a lot! I planned on making homemade meatball's tonight for spaghetti (guess I will put that off, or freeze it)
Their cooking is WAY amazing! Esspecially their Red Sauce for pasta!

Valentines Ruined!

I planned for years to go to Anthony's Runway 84(AMAZING ITALIAN FOOD,we have heard) with J for something special. It was planned. I made reservations for the night after Valentines day. (Valentines had no reservations and an estimated 4 hour wait)
I get ready at 4PM for resvervations at 5PM, got my hair in a towel... walk out side and hear my father, (he was staying with us for a few weeks~ more on that later)say oh can you drop me off at my new place which is 20 minutes WAY OUT of the way. I hear J say... uh... well we have reservations at 6PM, my dad gets an attitude. I mean way out of line... saying we should be happy for him to be getting his new place we should want to be there... and so on.

I am I have been there for him forever. He had not been there for me in year's.
He actualy said to me, I will leave now and catch a bus, and have someone else come get my stuff and never talk to you again!
Many word's were exchanged,
Many tear's on my part.
My face was so bright red, and my emotions so a mess I could not go out. So he took the car. Did his thing. Called hours later and apoligized.
I had him move out 3 day's later. No grudges held. But, I was to hurt to see him daily.
And, I missed out on Valentines day, to which J said in March we will have a Valentines.
So I look forward to that!
xoxo
P.S I got J, cheeses to try from around the world and a book on all kind's of cheese. He got me a red rose, and a teddy bear which Nemo has taken over.

Up in the DC

Okay this is where I get serious. This is my personal blog, and I do not expect anyone to read as I am so a slow writer. and not very interesting.
Yet, I am as of today going to post all the time (even the smallest lamest posts)!
So get used to it!

I am awake at 1:19AM the night before the inauguration... I saw a HUGE semi- truck the other day on the turn-pike that said "YES, I QUIT MY JOB, BECAUSE OBAMA IS GOING TO PAY MY RENT AND FILL UP MY GASS TANK, GO OBAMA 2009".
I'm so pissed at shit like that. Anyone ever see when Howard Stern sends people out to interview during the elections and they go something like this: "Hey Whatchoo think about Omama's Vice President Sarah Palin"?
People responded with, OMG SHE IS AWESOME!
HUH?
And like a lot of you I am going to express the same fear. People voted for Obama because they think he is going to change our country overnight. IMPOSSIBLE!
Obama had a speach today and it went something like this... "Before America get's better she will get much worse". Whoooa... what happened to our elected Obama, that said he would pay our bills?
Guess ya should have just trusted McCain.
